Company History
In 1946 Cassar & Cooper formed British Air Services (B.A.S. Ltd). This company was the pioneer of aviation in Malta and obtained a licence in the name of Air Malta with scheduled and chartered flights to Tripoli, Benghazi, Cairo, Catania, Palermo and Rome. Air Malta was eventually liquidated and the licence passed to Malta Airways. This company and B.A.S. Ltd jointly operated aircraft handling services at Malta International Airport under the names of Malta Aviation Services until this was nationalised in 1973. Through the strength of our pioneering work in establishing aviation in Malta we are able to offer an unrivaled service in airfreight forwarding. As the first company to operate aircraft under the name of Air Malta our links with aviation are strong and allow our customers the benefit of negotiated rates and pre-booked space allocations.
